"Great Lengths Extensions are not just for length. You can add volume, textures or a sexy little fringe in any colour.
Great Lengths Extensions are also wonderful if you don't want the damage of chemical hair colour. Just pop in a few strands of colour then change them whenever you want!
While others use techniques such as tubes, waxing, gluing or knotting - which strain and very often damage your hair -Great Lengths is based on a much more gentle principle. The bonds are made of a keratin/polymer which bonds more easily with your own hairs structure that is also made of keratin, thus no damage if installed and maintained properly. As you own hair expands and contracts when wet and dry, so do the bonds on Great Lengths Extensions. Thus minimal to no damage if applied properly.
When applied by Chazz, Great Lengths Extensions last between 5 to 6 months (sometimes longer).

Great Lengths FAQ

I get many inquiries about Hair Extensions… here is some information to help you decide if Great Lengths Hair Extensions are for you.
Do the extensions damage your hair?
The Great Lengths technology ensures that there is no damage to your own hair, providing that you follow the correct after care program as recommended by Chazz. Great Lengths created a high-tech method of bonding between their strands and your own hair. This point of attachment is composed of polymer chains whose molecular structure is very similar to that of human hair. It is activated by our Great Lengths applicator and bonds the Great Lengths strand with your own hair in this way. It can, however, be easily removed by an expert!

Regular maintenance will ensure that your hair stays healthy. Any tangles can then be removed and any lose hair reattached. If taken care fo properly, using the Great Lengths system of extension products, your hair should be in the same condition or better when they were installed.
Great Lengths Extensions actually help your own hair grow stronger as they help protect your hair while applied.
Where does the hair come from?
All Great Lengths hair originates from India. Because of its same genetic origin the basic structure of Indian hair is similar to that of European hair (It has an oval shaped follicle). Indian women traditionally cut off their long plait of hair either at their wedding -as a symbol of starting their new life- or if they want to ask a special favor or offer thanks to a deity at a religious temple. This collection method allows numerous benefits:
- The cuticle layer of the hair is perfectly healthy and intact since Indian hair is of exceptional quality and Indian woman rarely visit hair salons for chemical treatments of any kind. Great Lengths only buys this kind of hair and receives first refusal for all hair from the 2 largest temples in India.
- Which minimizes tangling. Other systems, utilize the cheaper unplaited hair which is shaved off of the head. This hair is then stripped of it's cuticle, saving the time to realign it, which is then dipped in silicone to give it shine. When the hair is washed 2 or 3 times the silicone wears off leaving you with fuzzy dry hair.
- Great Lengths hair is homogeneous (the same) in color and thickness. Other systems may find the hair colour a different shade from the root to the end.
How is the hair bonded?
It is the bond that distinguishes Great Lengths from all other hair extension techniques. Great Lengths utilizes a patented 'protein' bond.

The 'protein bond' is of a similar molecular composition as that of human hair. This technology enables the bond to withstand any condition that your own hair can withstand. The similarities in molecular composition ensures that there is no damage caused to your own hair, unlike other hair extension technologies that utilize glues, welding, waxing or knotting that can damage your hair.
Once the 'protein bond' is activated by the Great Lengths applicator it bonds the Great Lengths hair to your own hair. As a result, when your own hair expands and contracts with moisture and heat, so does your Great Lengths hair bonds. Other systems do not do this so the hair ends up breaking off at the bond.
How long will extensions last
in my hair?
Great Lengths extensions last 4 to 6 months depending on how well they are applied and how well you take care of them. Chazz's application on average last 5 to 6 months...sometimes longer if great care is taken.

It is recommended that you come in for maintenance every 1 to 2 months, after the initial installation. During these maintenance appointments it may be necessary to detangle hair or replace any bonds that have become untidy. This depends on the individual and will vary according to ones natural hair growth.
It also depends on the size of each strand applied. Strands around the face, where the hair is naturally thinner, may have to be replaced more often.
Can I use chemical products?
Yes! Almost any chemical service - such as perms, highlights and colours can be applied by Chazz as she is a certified "Great Lengths Specialist" and is trained to use products and procedures so as not to damage your extensions. This will maintain the integrity of the 'protein bond'.
How can I tell if the Extension
artist I'm considering is right for me?
Good question! Always ask to see before and after photos as well as the stylists physical work (an actual person or a mannequin).
The bonds should be approximately 1 cm from the scalp and move freely. The bond should not pop out in any direction and should actually sit like a man's tie.
Here are some other characteristics of a good application to look for:
- The polymer (bond) should be smooth, long
and the same size as the hair itself. This ensures there
will be no extra heaviness weighing the hair down and that
the total look seems entirely natural.
- The bonds themselves should look like a
small triangle tie (as in a man's neck tie) and should be
aprox. 4 cm from the scalp. They should hang directly down
and be centered, so no pulling to the side or pulling up.
This will damage your hair in the long run. Feel free to
pick up the hair and touch it, it should swing free in all
directions.
How much will it cost me?
With Great Lengths hair extensions you can achieve so many different looks varying from lengthening, volumizing to just adding beautiful and funky colors.
The price will vary according to the length of the extensions you require and the number of extensions you need to achieve your desired look. Apply a partial head of extensions, just to add colour, may be as low as $400.

A full head of extensions at 16 & 20 inch lengths start around $1200. Bear in mind that Great Lengths are the very best hair extensions on the market today.
Chazz always does an extensive complimentary consultation to determine exactly what is required to achieve the look you desire. Once Chazz has calculated your length and thickness requirements, she will calculate your full extension cost. This will also include all Great Lengths products you will need for proper home maintenance.
A deposit of 50% will be needed to place your hair extension order. Appointments can be made in as little as 2 days from the time the money is received and the order is placed. Usually a week is best to make sure your hair extension order has arrived in time.
Your hair extensions are purchased in bundles according to your needs. You will then pay the balance of your hair extensions once your hair extension service is completed.
If you need any chemical services done before your extensions, these will need to be completed before your consultation. If not your new extensions may NOT match your newly coloured or highlighted hair. These prices are additional and are not included in your hair extension service. Chazz is highly qualified in all colouring and highlighting services, which enables her to match your new colour to your new hair extensions.
If you do wish to have your chemical services done elsewhere then that is fine. Just make sure it is done before your consultation.
Note: All chemical services MUST be done at least 24 to 48 hours before your hair extension application.
How do you take Great Lengths out of your hair?
